The robotic mower with Honda's engineering pedigree and the largest dealer-supported installation network in North America. Built heavier, cut cleaner, serviced locally.
The short version: it's the most serviceable robotic mower you can buy — and for a machine you'll run weekly for years, that matters.
Honda entered robotic mowing later than Husqvarna — the brand launched Miimo in Europe in 2012 and brought it to North America in 2020. Where Honda chose to compete was not on RTK navigation or AI features, but on build quality, dealer-supported service, and proven boundary-wire reliability. The Miimo line leans on Honda's decades of small-engine and outdoor-power-equipment engineering, and the result is a noticeably heavier, more solidly constructed machine than most imports at the same price point.
The business model is the differentiator. Honda Miimos are not sold direct-to-consumer from a website. They are sold and serviced through Honda's power-equipment dealer network — the same dealer network that services Honda generators, lawn tractors, and snow blowers — which gives Miimo unmatched accessibility compared to brands you can only reach by email or phone. There are more than 2,500 Honda Power Equipment dealers across the United States. If your Miimo has an issue, you have it serviced locally by a mechanic who knows the brand. No other residential robotic mower matches that.
The Miimo line itself uses boundary wire navigation, which means proven reliability rather than newer RTK GPS systems. Honda's MicroClip blade system delivers a clean cut with minimal heat stress to grass blades. The chassis is heavier than most competitors at equivalent price points — and that weight translates to better slope handling and a more stable ground feel on uneven terrain.
If serviceability and dealer access matter to you — and for a machine you'll rely on weekly for years — Honda Miimo is in a class by itself among robotic mowers.

Honda's reliability play — proven perimeter tech plus local service.
All current Honda Miimos use a boundary wire system — the same proven approach as Husqvarna and most other residential robotic mowers. A thin wire is buried or pinned around your lawn's perimeter and any obstacles, creating a virtual fence the mower respects. It works reliably, costs nothing extra once installed, and is the most mature navigation technology on the market.
The tradeoff: installation takes 4–8 hours and isn't trivially DIY. Wire breaks mean the mower stops until the break is located and repaired. For homeowners who want maximum reliability and don't mind an installer visit, this is a fine tradeoff.
The advantage that sets Honda apart isn't the wire — it's who comes out to install it. Honda Miimos are sold and serviced through the Honda Power Equipment dealer network. That same dealer services your Honda generator, lawn tractor, and snow blower. You have a local mechanic on call instead of a support email queue. For a machine you'll rely on weekly for years, that dealer relationship is the single biggest reason to choose Honda over a direct-to-consumer competitor.
Miimo doesn't currently offer a wire-free RTK option the way Husqvarna's EPOS or Worx's Landroid Vision do. If avoiding the wire install is your top priority, Honda isn't the right brand. If maximizing serviceability is, Honda is hard to beat.
